His name is Palanichamy Sarathkumar, and he is a twenty-eight-year-old guardian of a forest team stationed close to Mettupalayam in Tamil Nadu. He received a call on December 12th, 2017, reporting a female elephant blocking a road.
He and his colleagues immediately used firecrackers to entice the elephant away. They then looked around to make sure there weren't any other elephants, and that's when they discovered the calf trapped in a ditch.
They had to act swiftly to save the enormous baby by removing the massive obstruction and dragging him out of the muck because he was so terrified and exhausted. But the calf was too frail to walk, and his mother had vanished.
The forest guards then made the decision to take him to the other side of the road, where he could rejoin his party.

The forest crew had one fear, though - they thought that the mother elephant would likely turn around and try to attack them. As a result, they were forced to adopt Sarathkumar's suggestion rather than organize to relocate the calf.

The over 100-kilogram beast was placed on his shoulder. He then brought the calf across the fifty-meter distance and set him down close to a watering source with the assistance of another partner in order to stabilize the animal.

An Indian Forest Services official named Ms. Dipika Bajpai submitted a photo from two years prior showing Sarathkumar cradling the newborn elephant that was heavier than he was (who was about eighty kilograms at that time). Social media buzzed about the image.
Users of Twitter showered the brave man with praise. They asserted that such a noble deed could only be sparked by a brave heart that was passionate and kind.
