Smart Dog Goes To His Vet After Getting Lost, Hoping That They Would Help Him Reunite With His Owner

Four-months-old pup Khiew Ngern didn't know what to do after getting lost, so he decided to go to his vet.

Despite their many talents, dogs can get lost too, and sometimes those same dogs might have a hard time finding their way back home. However, the smartest dogs may sometimes use their sense of smell for various tasks including navigation, and any familiar location can help them a lot.

A four-month-old puppy named Khiew Ngern used this tactic to find his way home after wandering away from his owner. He used his great dog skills to go to the closest familiar location his dog sense of self could remember, the vet.

Khiew Ngern managed to figure out that they might be able to help him, so the clever dog immediately went there. We can all only hope our own dogs would be so smart!

The four-month-old mixed black bull terrier pup from Bangkok, Thailand, ended up getting lost one day after he wandered off and lost his owner.

Khiew's owner apparently allows him to roam freely while she's working at the Bai Mai Kitchen restaurant. That's how the unlucky pup managed to lose his way back and proceeded to wander around the street of Bangkok for over 6 hours, until he came up with a great idea.

Khiew figured out that the vet might be able to help him and he managed to trace his footsteps to her.

The clever pup was quite familiar with the veterinary clinic, so he went there instead of going home or to his owner at the restaurant. Khiew has been regularly going to the clinic for quite a while, his owner had scheduled many vaccine shots over there.

Dogs typically hate the vet, but Khiew had a feeling that going to the clinic would be an appropriate solution to his problem, so he sniffed his way to the Phuttaraksa Animal Clinic, then he began trying to get their attention.

Khiew is seen in the security footage scratching and barking at the clinic’s glass door and windows, he then waited around the premises while sniffing around the whole time until someone inside notices him. One of the staff members and the doctor’s assistant eventually ended up spotting Khiew and soon let the pup in after recognizing him. 

The dog was happy to finally be inside, even though he was reluctant to enter at first. The staff shortly contacted Khiew’s owners to let them know that he was safe at the clinic. The owner was soon reunited with her puppy.

The story was shared in the clinic's Facebook page and they also included pictures as well as the video of Khiew trying to get their attention. The post got a lot of traction online, and many media news outlets picked up the story.
