Try to hold back your tears as you read about the story of this man's beautiful reunion with his dog. For year and a half now, Richard Brower's cherished German Shepherd, Dozer, had been taken from him, and Richard had eventually come to the conclusion that he must move on.
Richard is presently a resident in Alberta, Canada. He believed it was time to accept that his best friend was no longer with him, as tough as the decision was.
He began looking for a new puppy to adopt, but he had no idea that allowing himself to accept getting a new dog would actually end up being a miracle! Richard found a picture of Dozer staring back at him when he visited the Claresholm Rescue Society website to hunt for a new puppy.
“It was the first post that came up, and Dozer was just staring me back in the face, looking pretty much the same as he did 18 months ago,” Richard told CBC News. “And then my heart dropped and I started shivering.”
He made a hasty call to the shelter's number and set up a visit with his father, who just so happened to be nearby that day. As soon as Dozer met Richard's father, he went nuts.
Richard, however, wanted to be sure, so he instructed his father to snap his fingers as soon as he spotted Dozer. Quickly, the dog took a seat at his father's right side.

Richard BrowerRichard's decision to get another dog after spending a difficult 18 months looking for his stolen dog has brought him a life's miracle. Richard and his father started laughing and at the same time, everyone else was ecstatic.
They hadn't seen one another in a very long time! Dozer's fight started 18 months ago when he was taken from Richard's gated garden.
Richard and his friends searched all over for Dozer after he vanished. In a field less than two hours from Richard's house, Dozer was found roaming.
His friendliness was seen by a Good Samaritan, who then took him to the Claresholm Rescue Society. Dozer seemed to have been well taken care of during his absence; however, no one knows how he got there or who kidnapped him.
Dozer had been at the shelter for a month before Richard saw his picture. Dozer is now ten years old, according to Richard, and although he is upset that they have been apart for almost two years, he is also relieved to have his closest friend back.
Everyone was overcome with emotion as Dozer arrived home.
“When he returned home, it was great.” “As soon as he came on the block, his tail started bobbing, and as soon as he pulled into the driveway, I opened the door and he just jumped straight in and buried his head in my armpit, whining like a baby,” Richard told the Canadian broadcaster.
