Wild At Heart Rescue is an animal rescue organization based in Mississippi. They take care of all sorts of animals in distress, from raccoons to possums to geese to foxes and more.

When Gigi, the horned owl, was rescued by Doug, Wild At Heart's president, she had a terrible head injury. It is assumed she was hit by a car.

Doug is very involved in the rescue process and likes to be hands-on - especially when it comes to birds of prey. He has a unique way with birds, and it's clear by the way they respond to him.

Doug has an incredible calming effect on the birds, and Gigi was no exception to Doug's charm. The moment Gigi saw Doug, she began dancing with excitement.

Wild At Heart Rescue recently shared some precious photos of Doug and Gigi. Their special bond is abundantly clear in the adorable pics!

When Doug checked in on his patient, she threw her arms around him and gave him a huge hug! Gigi's face shows pure contentment and gratitude.

These precious moments just have to be captured on film! "It's like they communicate," said a spokesperson for the rescue.
