We all love Disney, and it's a big part of our childhood. But have you ever noticed them to bit a bit spooky, especially the old ones? Well, someone did…
Mike Chiechi (AKA Frank's Kid), an artist and illustrator from New York, has been a big fan of Disney, horror movies, and drawing, so he decided to combine his passions. He always believed that the old cartoons are not as naive as they seem at first glance.
So he decided to prove it by placing iconic cartoon characters in an old black&white Disney cartoon to show that they could actually fit in, and they wouldn't feel as if they were out of place.
1. "The Ground Is Sour, Mickey!!!”
franks_kid2. "Mickey Meets His New Friend To The End!"
franks_kid3. "Minnie Walks In On Mickey At An Unfortunate Time..."
franks_kid4. "Mickey And Minnie Meet The Firefly Gang!"
franks_kidIn this series of grisly artworks, iconic characters such as Freddy Kruger, Leatherface, and Jason Voorhees are placed in the 1930s Mickey Mouse cartoon.
5. "Minnie Should Have Never Moved To Haddonfield!"
franks_kid6. “What An Excellent Day For An Exorcism!”
franks_kidWhen asked about how he got the idea for his fanart, Chiechi said:
“Well, I just remember watching the old Disney cartoons when I was a kid and finding them to be pretty spooky. Even when it was completely unintentional! Now, as an animator and a lover of horror, I figured it was only natural to mix them with my favorite horror icons! To me, they really don’t seem THAT out of place next to Mickey and Minnie!”
