If you have wholesome friends on your Facebook then there's definitely a chance you've seen posts from Father Nathan Monk before. The former priest is a well-known author and human-rights activist who uses his social media platform for positive change.
One such way he's been committed to sharing love with the world is by supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. His series of historical photos featuring gay couples over time is some loud and proud proof that being gay isn't some sort of social justice trend.
In an interview with Bored Panda, Monk said:
“I found the photos online through a couple of different posts. I shared them because I think it’s important to remember those that come before us, those that fought, and struggled to live their authentic life. I believe it’s important to be reminded that LGBTQ+ have always been part of society and always will be. That reality should be lovingly accepted instead of shunned and ridiculed.”
With his post, Monk challenged the non-believers to face the truth.

Father Nathan MonkMonk isn't the only one combating misinformation about the very real existence of the LGBTQIA+ community throughout history. LGBTQ Nation shared another famous gallery not too long ago:
"Sébastien Lifshitz has combed through vintage photos at garage sales and flea markets and eBay for more than 20 years, amassing a collection of old queer life."
