Cats Seriously Sleep In The Strangest Places
Who needs a $200 bed? A cardboard box is much better.

Cats spend an average of 16 hours each day sleeping, and that's not strange at all. But the places cats choose to take naps are strange. Cats love to sleep in vases, trees, terrariums…
You've spent a fortune on the best cat bed available, and then your kitty chooses to sleep in the box the bed came in. Cat logic is something that we can't understand. But it's what makes cats so charming.
People love to share photos of their cats sleeping in the weirdest places, and we have compiled a list of the best of them. We know you are going to enjoy these ridiculous and adorable cats.

BasicBanterMikel Delgado from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine says that as predators, cats tend to “work hard, sleep hard.”
Their sleeping patterns are very different than ours. “Cats tend to sleep for short periods throughout the day and night, unlike humans, who tend to sleep in one long (hopefully!) bout.” In total, felines sleep 12 to 16 hours a day, and all that sleep helps them to “conserve energy for when they need it most—to hunt.”

travelakoaMikel explained that most felines sleep a lot during the day because their owners aren’t at home, and their environment isn’t stimulating. “Providing your cat with a window perch, food puzzles, enrichment like cat grass, and safe solo play toys can help keep them more active when you are gone.”
Cats may be sleeping in all these odd places simply because they fall asleep much more quickly than humans do. Plus, “they are also more flexible so they can fit into spaces that do not look comfortable to us.”
Mikel said that some of those places may “provide cats with a sense of safety, or the ability to see what is going on in their environment.” Don’t forget that cats are both predators and prey. That’s the reason they need to be aware of their surroundings.
