A Baby Fox From The Wild Finds A Woman's Yard And Decides To Hang Out In It Every Day

Whether you see a fox in the wild or near your home, it can be very exciting. Foxes are capable of being friendly, and they generally are not a threat to humans.

Still, they are wild animals with unpredictable behavior, especially when they sense danger. So while they are friendly, it's still best not to approach them.

Wild foxes have a solitary attitude. They prefer avoiding people and other people. Mostly, they sneak out at night and go about their business.

Once they're done, they go back to their dens. While they're generally low-threat animals, it's still best not to get close to them.

This is exactly what a woman did when a wild baby fox suddenly decided to hang around her yard. Last July, Emma Thompson was working in her office.

She let the kitchen door open to let fresh air through. Suddenly, she felt that she wasn't alone.

At the corner of her eye, she saw an orange thing moving close to her let. When this creature saw her, it bolted out of the door.

And that was the first time Thompson met Foxy. She was a wild baby fox hanging around her house.

Eventually, the little creature showed up every day. That's when Thompson fitted the pieces about her origins together.

Foxy was born in a neighbour's yard.

The den was destroyed because that neighbor wasn't too fond of foxes. Since Foxy had nowhere else to go, she went on a journey to look for a new face to live.

During her search, she found Thompson’s yard. Since she looked nice enough, so Foxy decided to stay there.

The baby fox and the woman are now hanging out each day. Thompson always kept her distance because Foxy is still a wild animal.

It only took Foxy a short time to get comfy in her new residence.

Eventually, she acts as if she's lived there for a long time. She takes naps on the sofa, plays with cats, and sometimes, sneaks inside Thompson's home to steal her slippers.

After Foxy ascertained that the place was indeed safe, she decided to tag her sister along.

The two fox sisters now act as if Thompson's yard is their own playground. She sees them around every day.

After Thompson realised that the two were enjoying the place enough to sneak into the house, she decided to fix the broken cat door.

I didn’t mind her coming in when I knew where she was — but kind of didn’t want her running around the flat at night and stealing my things

Now, Foxy finds it challenging to get inside the house. She isn't too pleased with the new set-up.

Thompson is well aware that both foxes are still wild animals, and will have tendencies for their instincts to take over.

She does her best to keep her distance from the two. Since they're wild animals, she didn't want them to be too reliant on humans.

Foxy looks like she has other plans, though. Thompson never petted the two foxes, but Foxy sniffed her and curled around her legs in one instance.

She even thought it was one of the cats. Thompson still wants to show the wild baby fox that they need to be cautious of humans.

They do run if I move too quickly or raise my voice.

The two foxes are still quite young. They're only 4 months old.

The pair just wanted to live in a place where they can safely grow up. Thompson is honored that both of them chose her yard as their shelter.
