One adorable bulldog and one six-month-old rescue vixen cub managed to bring to life a famous Disney classic called The Fox and the Hound. Ant its not just for show.
The Disney movie talks bout an unlikely friendship that overcomes all obstacles, and this real-life version mimics it wonderfully. It all started when a 28-year-old woman named Pauline Ashanolla saved a two-week-old baby fox.
The poor animal was found by a couple who couldn’t take care of her and couldn’t find a shelter who would take a fox. They knew that Pauline was passionate about helping animals and asked her for help.
She gladly took the little fox in, determined to nurse her back to health.
She was only two weeks old when she was found.
Kennedy News and MediaPauline was determined to help the poor animal, and she even paused her job as a dog groomer to spend more time with Marley, as she named the fox. Pauline lives with a four-year-old bulldog named Ernie, and along the way, a truly wonderful friendship emerged between him and Marley.
Pauline wanted to help the little fox and took her in
Kennedy News and Media“Marley was so poorly when we found her; she was covered in flies and ticks. They were in her ears, everywhere,” Pauline told media. “She was throwing up worms, really big ones; they were longer than her. She definitely would have died if she’d been found just 15 minutes later.”
Pauline took her job seriously, and for the next six weeks, she nursed the gentle baby fox back to health. She syringe-fed her kitty milk every hour and a half, day and night. She also applied medication to treat her ticks and worms.
A beautiful friendship developed between Marley and a bulldog Ernie.
Kennedy News and MediaMarley is now healthy and strong, and she has her best pal by her side. “I was worried about Marley first and how she would get on with the dogs especially,” Pauline told the media.
“Ernie was terrified of Marley at first, and she didn’t like him, but she slowly started sleeping closer to him. After I’d had her about three weeks, they started playing together.
One day, they just started running around together, and they have been best friends ever since.”
These unlikely friends look like the real-life adaptation of The Fox and the Hound.
Disney“They do everything together, they’re inseparable. They play with each other all day, they sleep together every night, they go for walks together,” Pauline told the media.
“Dogs are usually used to hunt foxes, but these two are best friends. It’s like the real-life The Fox and the Hound. Ernie is so gentle and sweet with her, he looks like a little bruiser but he’s actually a big baby.”
