Small Dog Breeds Can Be Scarier Than Large Breed Dogs

First and foremost, I am a HUGE dog lover. I love dogs of all breeds. In fact my half bully breed is curled up into a ball on my couch next to my as I type this. She is the biggest lover to my kids, and while I do everything in my power to teach and control my children around her, she for sure puts up with a lot of their antics and never once has she reacted in an alarming way. She tells them in her own way when she's had enough and I fiercely go to bat for her each time. Too often when children get bit it is solely the dog's fault, when in all actuality it is partially the owner's fault as well.

With that being said- I am not a fan of smaller breeds of dogs.

To be perfectly honest, I've only truly loved 2 small dogs in my lifetime.

Yet I have definitely been terrified of dozens. Literally.

This article just so happens to highlight my reasoning as to why!

I've never seen a more legit post in my life.

Veterinarian's reveal how much more often they're bit by small dog breeds than they are by large dog breeds. And somehow I am not at all surprised.

As an owner of a large breed dog, a 50/50 split of Black Labrador and American Pit-bull Terrier, I definitely have always feared small dogs vs large ones. To this day I cringe at small breed dogs.

Those small dogs..They'll get you when you least expect it. As soon as you turn a blind eye...They pounce!

As a responsible pet owner, keep in mind that it is 110% your responsibility to train your dog. Big or small. It is imperative that you do in fact train your dog, because when interacting with other humans that it may or may not feel threatened by, you are the responsible party if anything happens to another person.

Take heart my friends, all animals want to obey, however they need to be taught how to act first. Give them that opportunity.

Tell us if you've ever had a run in with a small breed dog. We want to hear your stories!
