The Mario franchise is a significant part of many people’s childhoods. The Japanese multimedia franchise created by Shigeru Miyamoto for Nintendo has produced many video games, comic books, and television series.

A number of the Mario franchise titles, particularly those in the Super Mario subseries, are regarded as some of the best video games ever created, making the Mario series one of gaming's most popular and acclaimed franchises. 

With more than 826 million copies of games sold, including more than 385 million for the Super Mario games alone, it is the most successful video game brand ever.

Many love the franchise’s main character, an Italian plumber named Mario. However, there are other characters people love in the franchise, including Mario’s brother, Luigi.

Mario and Luigi often feature in games with simple plots. They are typically rescuing the kidnapped Princess Peach from the primary antagonist, Bowser.

Considering people’s love for the brothers, it’s unsurprising that several people watched the 2023 film The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The movie features an origin story for the brothers, who are transported to an alternate world and become entangled in a battle between the Mushroom Kingdom, led by Princess Peach, and the Koopas, led by Bowser.

Surprisingly some people had more to say about Luigi’s appearance in the movie than they had to say about the movie itself. They were particularly surprised that he looked attractive.
