This story isn't as juicy as others, but it's about someone who consistently leaves on their lights, but their environmentally conscious friend asks her to turn them off when she leaves the house. OP says that she doesn't remember to turn them off, and it's inconvenient for her.

We thought it would be interesting to share this so we can highlight some of the comments that people left. A lot of the time, the comments are the best part of the posts.

OP starts off the post with explaining her living situation and the fairy lights.

She says usually she takes her friend's word and does what she says, but not this time.

OP explains that the issue is not electricity or anything like that but only for the environmental factor.

OP ends the post asking if they are wrong and giving a bit more information on what type of fairy lights they are.

The first comment already says that OP is TA in this story and basically calls her lazy for not turning them off.

People started saying how the lights do affect the electricity bill as well so she should be concerned with that.

Some comments were actually helpful by giving her some advice on how to have the timed.

There are a lot of different negative side effects and dangers that could come from this.

Overall everyone seems to say that she's inconsiderate for not turning them off ever, because of all the hazard.

Simply put but basically she should be considerate to leave them off when she's gone, especially traveling.

This comment was witty but definitely told OP what they needed to hear.

This person gave her a soft YTA because it is wasteful and they also are suggesting a timer.

Almost everyone said that she was TA in this story and some people didn't even care to explain themselves much.

This is one of the few NTA comments we found.

This comment is simple but straight to the point.

This is true and she really should pay attention to the lights for one reason or another.

This story wasn't as entertaining as some of the others, as the conflict was rather simple, but the comments were the highlight of the entire post. Ultimately everyone said that OP was TA for the fairy light situation, and they suggested some solutions to her as well.
