Instagram Account Posts Pictures Of Preachers Wearing Expensive Designer Items Exposing The Other Side Of Church

A recent study has shown that around 37% of Americans go to church at least once a week. But would this rate decrease if people knew how expensive their pastors' shoes are?

One man, in particular, is seeking the answer to this question and that man is 29-year-old Tyler who created an Instagram account called PreachersNSneakers where he basically calls out celebrity church leaders by exposing how much their expensive footwear cost.

The account has reached over 66K followers in just a matter of weeks.

“I’ve been really into buying and reselling sneakers for the past few years,” Tyler told Fashionista. “On the other side, I’m an evangelical Christian and am pretty ingrained in that culture. One Sunday I was looking for a song I really like by Elevation Worship and I realized the lead singer was wearing a pair of Yeezy 750s. They’re pretty rare, they resell for 800 bucks or so. I thought I knew about church-type salaries — my wife works for a church — and so I was like, ‘This does not compute. How is this guy wearing these kicks?'”
