Nearly everyone who is a new dog parent experiences it, though not everyone emerges unharmed. You can even have numerous nights of little to no sleep which can really wear you out.

The OP's mom and her boyfriend got a dog together that lives with them. The mom's boyfriend doesn't live with the OP but usually comes over every other weekend.
