Makeup Artist Creates Incredible Looks Inspired By Disney Characters

There's no denying that Disney has played a pretty big part in most of our childhoods. Our favorite Disney films have more than likely taught us many valuable life lessons growing up, and our most loved Disney characters were probably heavily featured in our childhood bedrooms. They made us believe in happy endings, princes, princesses and magic spells. And for many of us, our love for Disney has not wavered in adulthood.

Take, for example, Laís Cordeiro Rosa, also known as Lally or 'lallymakeup' on Instagram. Lally is a super talented makeup artist from Brazil who recently went viral when she created a series of makeup looks inspired by Disney characters.

When asked how she came up with the idea, Lally said, “I love Disney and drawings in general! I use the colors of the characters and their characteristics. For example, the villains I always try to make the makeup darker.”

Scroll down to take a look through some of Lally's incredible designs!

Lally has put a lot of thought into her designs and each one is unique, focusing on a particular character or scene from a movie. She tries to pay a lot of attention to detail, using different colors and shapes, so as to reflect certain traits or features or each character.

“I like to pass on the character's personality in the make-up. For example, for a livelier character, I always try to use glow elements, vibrant colors, etc. For a character like Ursula (The Little Mermaid), I focus on dark colors and marked shapes. I think the right color is the most important and also the hardest. I haven't done the Cinderella makeup yet because I haven't found the right blue yet,” she says.

26-year-old Lally has been a makeup artist for over 9 years already, starting her career at just 17-years-old.

"I started to do thematic makeup, because I was in a forum called deviantart, but I couldn't draw. And I really wanted to do fan art! Then I started to get inspired by other makeup artists and created my makeup," she said.

After a lot of patience and hard work, Lally is now able to proudly call herself a professional makeup artist (and a pretty amazing one at that!).

“I like to think that there is no right and wrong in art, and there is no right and wrong in makeup. Many people find thematic make-up strange, say they wouldn't use it ... but it's not about using, it's about expressing something I like. 'The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary' - I don't know the author but my dad always told me that, and it's true. You may have talent, but if you don't practice to develop it and be better, you won't reach your potential,” says Lally about her philosophy as a makeup artist.
