17 Deleted Scenes From Your Favorite Disney Films That Would Have Completely Changed Them

These scenes on this list may have been left on the cutting room floor but if they were included, they would have changed some of your favorite Disney films.

Nowadays, when it comes to making films, especially those big-budget ones, it’s not just all about the story. Sure, it’s a huge part of it since that will be a major factor for the audience but there are also other factors you have to consider. 

There are producers to please, budgets to follow, and a whole studio to appease. Sometimes, the actors even get a say about the movie. 

Simply put, there are a lot of limitations in making a movie even if that is a Disney film and they have all the budget and resources in the world for anything they please. That’s why directors have to find ways to make it work. 

Sometimes, to make it work, the only way to go is to leave out scenes on the cutting room floor. Unfortunately, while some of this cutting makes sense for time limitations and all that, some are made from tough decisions. 

Some scenes that are cut are actually key scenes that would have changed the direction of the film. They may have changed the backstory of a character, changed the path of their hero story, or even changed the audience's perception of them completely. 

The reasoning may have involved messing up the storyline, cutting time, or cutting down on the budget. No matter what it is though, it’s interesting to imagine what would have actually happened had these scenes been included. 

With that, here are some deleted scenes from some of your favorite Disney films that would have changed them.

3. In the original plot for Toy Story, Woody pushes Buzz out of Andy's window out of jealousy thinking that Buzz might be taken to Pizza Planet instead of him.

5. In Lady and the Tramp, there was originally a whole sequence where the dogs imagined what the world would be if the humans and dogs reversed roles

6. Coco was also supposed to have an opening musical feature that would have explained El Dia de los Muertos

7. In The Lion King, there was an alternate ending where instead of being eaten by the hyenas, Scar was engulfed by flames after his battle with Simba

8. Before the final version of the movie, Pocahontas had a scene where John Smith and Pocahontas sing "If I Never Knew" which reveals that they love each other

12. The original opening scene for The Incredibles was a less child friendly. It involved Bob accidentally chopping off his own fingers at a neighborhood barbeque and not feeling a thing thus revealing he's a superhero.

A lot of these scenes would have made a lot of these Disney films a lot more emotional and a lot of them would have actually changed our perception about certain characters. We kind of get why some of them had to be left on the cutting room floor though.
