Not that there aren't some peculiar looking pups out there, but most dogs are pretty easy to identify as dogs with minimal effort. However, even for the most dedicated of dog lovers can't always pinpoint a dog when they see it!

A year ago, Reddit user mmmckinnell, posted a strange looking photo in r/whenyouseeit. At the time, it didn't get a lot of attention and people eventually forgot about it.

But considering how the internet works in mysterious ways, it resurfaced again on Twitter a few days ago and instantly went viral. Naturally, it eventually made its way to Instagram and other social media platforms.

The picture confused everyone, considering how it's taken from a weird angle. The subject seems like some kind of mystical creature at first glance, certainly anything other than a dog!
