Graphic Designer Shows Disney Fans What It Would Look Like To Have a Coco Themed Fun Ride At Disney World

Over the last decade or so Disney has slowly replaced many of it's iconic internationally themed rides with those that spotlight their popular characters.

A prime example of this is 'Frozen Ever After' that replaced the highly popular 'Maelstrom' in 2014. Now, due to low ridership, another classic may be replaced to include references to another recent hit.

Designs have been made by the Parkineer team to replace the 'Gran Fiesta Tour' with a ride featuring the characters from 'Coco'. This is only a fun concept, and we really hope it comes true someday!

Unlike with the replacement of 'Maelstrom', these jaw dropping plans seem to be well liked by park ride enthusiasts and park goers.

'Gran Fiesta Tour' has been suffering low numbers of riders, even after the addition of new animatronics.

About 2 months ago plans designed by the team at Parkineer showed plans to replace 'Gran Fiesta Tour' with a similar attraction more inspired by the world presented in 2017s 'Coco'. On most occasions, the ride sees little wait times and many boats unattended. The proposed plan would reduce construction costs and the need for permits by keeping the existing boats and the ride layout and only constructing the new set pieces.

The atmosphere of the film will be solidified with the tune of 'Remember Me' played on acoustic guitar in the background as you head towards Santa Cecilia Cemetery.

First thing you'll see as your boat makes its way around the first corner (where the Mayan Temple currently stands) is Santa Cecilia, Mexico (Miguel's home).This set will be decorated with memorials and 'Day of the Dead' tributes.

Next the ride will have you heading towards Ernesto Dela Cruz’s Tomb where you will surrounded by silouhette’s and you will hear clips of people paying tribute to their loved ones.

This tomb will be in the place where the old Mayan temple currently stands.

Flower Bridge

Following the tomb entrance using projection mapping and forced perspective the boat will be taken to the Flower Bridge. The boat and the surroundings will be illuminated as you make your way towards the City of Dead. The water would be a glowing orange and using art mapping it would appear as if flowers would be falling from the walls to give off the look like you would be surrounded by the petals.

Cenote Pit

The tv in the cave itself would show Miguel and hector talking and then Pepito (the winged lion thing) swooping in at the last second

The next 3 screens that usually showed a party scene would instead show [Miguel] and his family rushing through crowds with one of them saying they have to get to the stage. - Parkineer.org

City of Dead

In the City of Dead you would be greeted by skeletons and various characters from the film.

Finale

The finale would feature Hector and Miguel on a stage singing “Remember Me” as you make your way to the unload.
