Anne Hughes had been stood outside a local shop waiting for it to open when the shutters lifted, only to realize her coat had become caught in the mechanism.

Still clutching onto her shopping trolley, the 71-year-old found herself suspended in mid-air as she remained ensnared in the shutters.

Leaning against the shutter while awaiting the shop's opening, her coat inadvertently hooked onto the shutter mechanism. Consequently, as the shopkeeper initiated the morning routine of opening the shutters, Anne was left dangling upside down.

"I was just standing there when my coat got caught, and up I went. I thought, flipping heck!" Anne recounted of the unusual retail mishap.

"People often say it could happen to anyone, but honestly, it could only happen to me! Good thing I've got a solid sense of humor.

"Luckily, my coat held up; I really didn't fancy landing face-first again."

Initially, the shopkeeper couldn't hear her cries as she was lifted off the ground, but once the shutter was fully open, he spotted her.

Anne remembered urgently telling him to 'just grab my head' as she feared a potential fall.

"I'll have to embrace the fame, always keep my makeup on. I'll never tangle with those shutters again. Never. Lesson learned."
