Sweet Cat's Unusual Snuggling Habits Alerted His Owner That She Had Cancer Before She Was Diagnosed

There's no denying that animals are extraordinary creatures. They provide us with unconditional love, loyalty, and are always there when we need them.

However, providing a great source of company and comfort isn't all our pets are good for. Nowadays, many people have emotional support animals that can provide a form of unbeatable therapy.

What about diagnostics? You may have heard stories about animals being able to sense certain illnesses, but is that just a bit far-fetched?

Well, if you're unconvinced, this story about Kate and her cuddly cat, Oggy, might just change your mind. Kate says the sweet cat pointed out her breast cancer before she had even been diagnosed.

Kate King-Scribbins and her husband have four rescue animals. Oggy, the cat, Max the dog, Lulu the Maine coon, and Abby, the elderly lab mix.

Kate says that Oggy has always been an "aggressive snuggler." However, before Kate was diagnosed with breast cancer, Oggy's snuggles became even more aggressive, and were focused on the left side of Kate's chest.

Kate would try to move Oggy, or deter him, but he would always return to that side and insist on laying on her left breast.

Still, Kate didn't suspect anything was wrong, until one day when she awoke with a severe pain shooting through her body.

Kate performed a self-examination of her breasts and discovered a lump on her left side. She was later given a diagnosis of stage three breast cancer.

Kate underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and multiple operations. It wasn't until after her diagnosis that she finally realized what Oggy had been trying to tell her all along.

Throughout her chemotherapy, Oggy continued to lay on Kate's left breast. It wasn't until after her surgery that the cat stopped pinpointing on that spot.

Kate says she understands that some people are very skeptical about the notion that Oggy diagnosed her cancer.

But, she says all that matters is that all of her pets have helped her immensely in her recovery.
