With the arrival of artificial intelligence, we’ve realized that almost anything is possible. And even though some people were afraid that it would limit people’s creativity and artistic passion, it turned out to be the complete opposite.

The technological advance has actually given people new tools to bring their visions to life. It did not limit art but expanded it.

Now creative people who are not skillful with brush and paint can produce works of art. Hidreley Diao from Brazil is one of those artists.

With the help of AI, he recreates famous cartoon characters as photos of real people. And they are so life-like, you simply can't believe they are based on cartoons.

Hidreley says that he is “fascinated by music, movies, and sitcoms, I'm passionate about social media and can't live without the internet, especially for all the cute dog and cat pictures out there. I wish the day had about 40 hours to be able to do everything I want.”

When asked about his inspiration, the artist said:

When I’m bored, I usually like to play around with several different AI software. Most of the time, I choose some cartoon characters (the more challenging the better), and I recreate them as modern-day humans!

When it comes to editing one image from this exact series, it takes me an average of two and a half hours. But also it's worth noting that a lot also depends on the character I'm doing!

Some are easier and others are harder so it's pretty situational if you ask me.
