Getting rid of a bully is pretty much an impossible task, once someone has their whole mindset on you, they will continue to torment you until you either break or manage to resist in some way or another. It is a terrible experience that some people, unfortunately, have to deal with daily.
People have tried several methods to get rid of bullies, some of them work to an extent, but some are much more effective than others. It all depends if you are willing to fo the brain over brawl path or the opposite. Whenever these methods work, people love to share their stories to inspire more people to stand up to their bullies.
Reddit user u/NunsWithNunchucks shared a similar story a while ago detailing how he stood up to his bully in a musical way. The awkward part about this is that he "confessed" his love to the bully in order to get him to back off. Standing up to your bully is not an easy task, so anything even somewhat effective will do the trick.

RedditThreats like this should not be taken lightly.
RedditI mean what can you in a situation like that?
RedditSome people even suspect that this whole story is fake.
RedditAll it does is add more harm to the mix.
RedditHe lost the competition but won the crowd.
RedditOP's mom is not as supportive as this random internet stranger.
RedditThe bully managed to get OP's number this way.
RedditOP's parents could've prevented him from getting bullied but they decided to just sit there and watch. They have no right to question his mental health because he defended himself the best way he could given the tools at his disposal. There are only a limited amount of things you could do in that position.
The only thing they should be doing now is making sure their son is not getting hurt and harassed by his school bully because now things are going to be much worse after the "romantic confession."
