These Two Doggo Friends Have Spent 128 Days In A Shelter Because They Refuse To Be Adopted Separately

In life, you become friends with a lot of people, but nobody is as close to you as your best friend. Those other friends will eventually move on from you and find other people to hang out with, but your best friend will always be by your side no matter what.

In the dog world, it is exactly the same. Dogs also meet their true best friend and once that happened they refuse to be without each other! It's extremely sweet and just about the most wonderful thing in the world to see.

Sonny and Georgie are a pair of best buds ever since they met when they were tiny little puppies. They have been living with one family for their entire life and absolutely loved it! but one day their human family couldn't provide for them anymore and sadly had to give them up to the Arizona Humane Society.

But as soon as they arrived at the shelter they made it very clear to everyone that they will not be separated.

Although they are the best of friends Georgia and Sunny are totally different, not just in size but in their personalities too. Sunny is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier who just loves meeting new people and she is incredibly adventurous.

Georgia, on the other hand, is an 8-year-old Chihuahua and she is a lot more reserved and cautious. She tends to let her sister take the lead and follow her everywhere. Even though they are so different they are incredible together.

They love each other to bits and can't stand it to be apart.

"The connection between them is uncanny and was noticed right away by AHS staff when Georgia and Sunny were separated into two different yards during playtime one day," Kelsey Dickerson, media relations specialist with AHS, said. "While in separate yards, the typically braver Sunny started to shake until she saw her sister in the opposite grass area and ran over to the fence, put her paws up and whined for her. Similarly, little Georgia did not start to warm up until she was reunited with her sister."

After the two were taken away from the only home they have ever stayed in and their human family they started growing even closer to one another and rely on each other for comfort and stability.

They absolutely love playing with each other on the grass in the daytime and curling up to each other at night time.

"Although it has been an adjustment for both adorable pups, they know that as long as they have each other everything will be just fine," Kelsey said.

Because Sunny and Georgia have such an incredible strong bond they need to be adopted together because they just thrive when they are close to each other. Now, because it's so difficult to get one dog a home it will be extremely difficult to get a home for them both.

That is why they have been waiting 128 days in the shelter for someone to adopt them.

They both just want a loving family who will take them in and love them both endlessly. Sunny and Georgia would also really love a big yard to run around in and chase each other until they can't anymore.

"Anyone who has spent any amount of time with them knows that these two girls are very special and will make great and loving companions," Kelsey said.

We certainly hope that these two beauties find a loving home quickly and that they will live out the remainder of their lives in a cocoon of love and happiness.
