Los Angeles, California based Lauren loves Disney. In all fairness, loving Disney isn't particularly unique, but not many of us can turn that Disney-driven passion into real-life art the way Lauren can.
On Instagram she goes by @dressesandcapes and it's there that you can see a stunning array of incredible cosplay with drool-worthy Disneybound adventures sprinkled in. Lauren has been doing cosplay for five years.
Over the course of those five years she has won multiple cosplay awards, been featured countless because of her Disneybounds (including in Leslie Kay's Disney Bound book,) and has nabbed some pretty impressive business partnerships! It's nothing but a delight to adventure through her work.
The human world, it's a mess.
"I know I won’t be going to any movie theaters anytime soon but I am still excited for our new Ariel! I can’t wait to see what Disney decides to do with her!"

"I know I love this movie for many reasons but there is one moment in particular that really resonates with me, Silver says to Jim “you have the makings of greatness in you!” and for some reason that really really got me. It always make me a little teary eyed, which may be a little lame but it’s just something that warms my heart."

On her website, Lauren says:
"My love of nerdom and geeky fashion helped fuel my initial interest in cosplay, but the creativity I have been able to express has kept me interested."

Lauren says:
"I am a completely self taught seamstress and crafter so I have taken on every cosplay as a new challenge and learning opportunity. I have been on several panels at different conventions regarding “ANYONE CAN COSPLAY"."

Lauren is always working on improving and upgrading her self-made costumes. She says:
"With each project I do I try to learn one new skill or improve upon a previous skill. Always keep striving, always look to improve, and always try to learn something new."
On Esmerelda:
"My first Esmeralda cosplay was such a passion project. I loved Esmeralda growing up so I tried my darnedest to get all her details, but for reals it was one of my first “big” cosplay projects so..."

"I MADE THIS COSPLAY IN ONE DAY! I made it in one day to celebrate MAY THE FOURTH. I used things I already had on hand (that’s why the “lightsaber” is not correct)to create this look and I’m kinda surprised I pulled it off...
...It’s definitely not perfect, and I will completely remake this for my real cosplay but I was happy to get this out of my system and represent my best girl. These last 4 episodes of Clone Wars has completely destroyed me but I’m still super happy."

“Oh, you slay me, tiger. You are the fly in my soup. You are the eyelash in my eye. You are so busy blowing out bad vibes in every direction that we are all choking on your second-hand smoke!”- **FINGER SNAP**
Mushu from Mulan

"I think I love Ben Solo because of his internal struggle between good and evil. Something about that story is so appealing."
