7 Reasons Why We Should Appreciate Hercules The Same Way As Any Other Disney Movie

Every Disney character and film deserves some appreciation and here's a list dedicated to Hercules.

Disney is known for its feature films and in those movies, come characters that we come to love over the years. Starting from Mickey Mouse to the profound list of Disney princesses like Snow White and Cinderella. 

However, there's one character that hasn't really gotten the same amount of attention as some other characters and based on the title of this article, I'm pretty sure you guessed it. Yeah, that's right, Hercules. I think we can all agree, that's one film that not too many people have named as a favorite, but we're here to change that. How can anyone not like this movie?

While this is just our opinion, who can argue that Hades is one of the best Disney characters of all time? He's got the potential to be hated and loved at the same time due to his oh so funny remarks.

Hades: I can’t believe you’re getting so worked up over some guy.

Meg: This one is different, he’s honest, and he’s sweet—

Hades: Please.

Meg: He would never do anything to hurt me.

Hades: He’s a guy.

Now that is the kind of advice that a lot of girls need these days.

I think we can all agree that Disney is known for its admirable female characters, but there's just something different about Meg. She's honest and has the ability to be something more than just a pretty face.

If you have a good eye, then you would see that throughout the movie, there are quite a bit of historical references to Ancient Greece and Greek mythology. Makes sense given what the movie is about, but the filmmakers do it in such a great way, that its less of a statement and more of a clever nugget that fits perfectly in the script.

Hercules is known to have one of the most diverse soundtracks in Disney history, all thanks to Alan Menken and lyricist David Zippel. With songs like "Go The Distance", "Zero To Hero", and "I Won't Say I'm In Love", it makes for a genre-crossing soundtrack with songs that fit every scene perfectly.

The Art of Hercules, inspired by the work of British cartoonist and illustrator Gerald Scarfe, bring an incredibly bold and imaginative tribute to ancient Greece along with a true meaning to the words authenticity and uniqueness.
