The idea of a "pink tax" as it exists in the world is becoming more and more prominent. The so-called "pink tax" basically just means that women often pay for the exact same, or comparable, item that men do--the "girl version" is almost always pink and more expensive.

Turns out this exists in video games too. Many of us travelled to islands far, far away via our Nintendo Switch over the past year to forget the real world and spend time with some random animals.

Turns out, the real world was not so far away, with the pink tax existing in-game, too. This mother posted about her child's reaction to it on Facebook, and I cannot wait to hear what Nintendo has to say about it!

Oakley's mum, Ashley told Bored Panda:

“Oakley is a very strong-minded young lady who is very aware and empathetic to the social issues we share with her and allow her exposure to. She has a keen eye for injustice and isn’t afraid to point it out, as my husband and I are very outspoken about things that we see as not being right.”
