This all takes place in a zoo in Switzerland where a Galapagos turtle was pregnant and gave birth to an albino Galapagos turtle. It was such a rare sight that the zoo employees had to document and share it with the world.

One thing to note is that this is the FIRST albino Giant Galapagos Turtle to ever be born.

“This is the first time in the world that an albino Galápagos tortoise has been born and kept in captivity,” the zoo announced in a statement.”No albino individuals have ever been observed in the wild, either.”

Turns out that this little guy does have a sibling, but that turtle looks just like mama and daddy.

It's crazy to know that two turtles were birthed from the same set of parents and one is completely "normal" while the albino one has stolen the spotlight since its birth. These little turtles were born in May and you can take a look at them side-by-side in this image.

The reasoning behind the zoo having these turtles makes for an even better reason to keep birthing them.

The parent Galapagos Turtles were kept in this zoo in order to conserve their species. Galapagos turtles are considered endangered as they only have 15,000 of them, so these little turtles definitely helped to grow the population by at least two.

Albinism isn't exactly super rare in terms of humans or other animals, but for turtles, you don't really see albino turtles, so it is pretty rare for them. The chance of having an albino turtle is 1 in 100,000.

So you could say this little turtle is pretty special.
